PoS has a certain threshold, which not only ensures that small stakers can participate in the network and earns income, but also prevents malicious attackers from gaining control over a single shard. Harmony implements information dissemination within and across shard networks by using an Adaptive Information Dispersal Algorithm. Harmony also uses Kademlia routing to achieve logarithmic scaling of cross-shard transactions as the number of shards increases. With sharding, it is also necessary to maintain the consistency of cross-shard transactions. Harmony also supports cross-shard transactions, supports direct communication between shards, and ensures the consistency of cross-shard transactions through an atomic locking mechanism. All in all, by optimizing the protocol layer and network layer, Harmony tries to provide a scalable, secure and decentralized blockchain that can support more mainstream decentralized application scenarios, including games, decentralized Centralized exchanges, IoT, etc. It's an ambitious vision.
