For years, card rewards have meant one thing: cashback, points, or miles that quietly lose value the longer you hold them. Well, we're bringing you something better. From August 1, every eligible purchase can earn you real assets – Bitcoin, gold, tokenized US stocks, ETFs, or USDC – automatically, with no extra steps. Same card, same spending you already do, but now it builds something that lasts. We call that assetback.

Your cashback just became a portfolio

Here's what changes with assetback:
  • Every tap builds your portfolio: Get up to 3% of your spending back, paid in an asset you choose – not flat cash that loses value over time.
  • 7 assets to pick from: BTC, tokenized gold, NVIDIA, Tesla, Google, S&P 500, and USDC – so your rewards match what you actually want to own.
  • It's automatic: No brokerage account, no manual investing, no extra steps. Just spend like you normally do.

Why we chose to do assetback

Traditional rewards hand you cash you'll probably just spend again. Assetback does something different: it turns routine purchases into steady, recurring asset accumulation. It also pushes tokenized real-world assets past trading desks and institutional use – getting Bitcoin, gold, and tokenized exposure to stocks and ETFs, through xStocks, as card rewards makes global investment assets far more reachable, especially in markets where buying US equities is expensive or difficult.
The timing tracks a broader shift. Monthly crypto card payment volume hit $656 million in May 2026, more than double the $271 million a year earlier, with cumulative sector volume now past $7.8 billion. Our own numbers follow the trend: Bitget Wallet Card spending nearly tripled in the first half of 2026, and how people use the card – frequency, transaction values, purchase categories – increasingly looks like a traditional consumer payment card. Assetback gives that everyday spending a reason to compound.

How assetback works

1. Apply for a Bitget Wallet Card: Update your app to version 9.5.3 or above to experience the new Bitget Wallet Card from August 1. Don't have a card yet? Apply for one for free now.
2. Choose your assetback option: Pick the asset you want your cashback returned in – BTC, tokenized gold, NVIDIA, Tesla, Google, S&P 500, or USDC. You can change your selection once a month in card settings.
3. Spend like you normally would: Use your Bitget Wallet Card for any purchase. Up to 3% assetback is calculated automatically, based on your monthly eligible spending.
4. Get assets back as you spend: USDC assetback is credited to your card balance. For other options, withdraw rewards to your Rewards Account once you've accumulated at least 1 USDC worth of assetback.

Bitget Wallet Card is a crypto payment card launched by Bitget Wallet, covering regions such as Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Users can top up with cryptocurrencies like USDT/USDC and spend it at any merchant worldwide that supports Visa/MasterCard. It can also be linked to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more.

3. What does this upgrade mean for me?

Bitget Wallet Card is now an assetback card where up to 3% of your eligible spending comes back as the asset you choose, instead of flat cashback.

4. How much can I earn?

2% for all cardholders (Base tier). New users, or those who reach the monthly spending threshold, earn 3% (Booster tier). Once unlocked, Booster tier applies to that calendar month and the following one.

5. Can I change my chosen asset?

Yes, once a month in your card settings. Changes apply going forward and won't affect cashback already generated, settled, or redeemed.

6. Does cashback apply to every purchase?

No. Cashback is subject to monthly caps, MCC exclusions, and risk review. Refunded, reversed, or cancelled transactions don't qualify.

7. When do I get my rewards?

Cashback is shown in real time; redemption opens T+7 after the transaction. Assetback can only be redeemed once you've accumulated 1 USDC worth of cashback with the card.

8. Will there still be zero fees for the card?

No, this assetback model replaces the previous zero-fee program. With the new model, you'll enjoy asset rewards that compound, rather than one that just offsets fees.
