What is Janus Henderson Investors?

Janus Henderson Investors is a leading global asset management firm dedicated to delivering superior financial outcomes for its clients through active management. Formed in 2017 through the merger of Janus Capital Group and Henderson Group, the firm manages approximately $480 billion in assets as of mid-2026. Its mission is to help clients define and achieve long-term financial goals by providing differentiated insights, disciplined investment processes, and world-class service to individual, intermediary, and institutional investors worldwide.

How Does Janus Henderson Investors Work?

The firm operates through a research-driven, active investment approach across major asset classes, including equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternatives. Recently, it has integrated blockchain technology through its Disruptive Financial Technology (DFT) strategy. This involves tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs)—such as Treasury bills and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs)—on public blockchains to streamline settlement, reduce intermediary costs, and provide instant liquidity through on-chain infrastructure like the Basin liquidity facility.

What Makes Janus Henderson Investors Unique?

Janus Henderson stands out as a traditional finance (TradFi) giant that actively bridges the gap with Decentralized Finance (DeFi). Unlike competitors that only experiment with private ledgers, Janus Henderson targets 'on-chain' capital by launching institutional-grade tokenized funds on public blockchains. Its unique collaborations include a strategic partnership with Ethena to utilize synthetic dollars for treasury management and the management of the Anemoy Liquid Treasury Fund, positioning it at the forefront of the tokenized real-world asset market.

Who Are the Founders of Janus Henderson Investors?

The firm’s roots trace back to two industry pioneers: Alexander Henderson, who founded the Henderson Administration in London in 1934 to manage his family's wealth, and Tom Bailey, who founded Janus Capital in Denver in 1969 with a focus on fundamental, bottom-up equity investing. Today, the merged entity is led by CEO Ali Dibadj, a former senior executive at AllianceBernstein, and Board Chair John Cassaday, who oversee a global team of over 2,000 employees and 340+ investment professionals.
