Its purpose is to provide institutional-grade transparency, real-time pricing, and rigorous analysis for the evolving cryptocurrency market, bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets.

How Does Bloomberg Work?

Bloomberg utilizes a data-driven vetting model to monitor and report on the top 50 cryptocurrencies based on institutional custody support, trading access, market capitalization, and turnover consistency. It aggregates pricing data from reputable sources like Kaiko and Digital Asset Research (DAR), delivering this through its proprietary 'CRYP' and 'DAS' functions on the Bloomberg Terminal for institutional investors.

What Makes Bloomberg Unique?

Bloomberg is unique due to its rigorous vetting process tailored for institutional clients and its proprietary Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index (BGCI), co-branded with Galaxy Digital. It also features 'BloombergGPT,' a specialized large language model trained on decades of financial documents to perform domain-specific tasks like sentiment analysis and news classification for the financial industry.

Who Are the Founders of Bloomberg?

Bloomberg L.P. was founded in 1981 by Michael Bloomberg, along with Thomas Secunda, Duncan MacMillan, and Charles Zegar. Michael Bloomberg, a former partner at Salomon Brothers, leveraged his expertise in financial data and technology to create the Bloomberg Terminal, which has since become the industry standard for financial professionals worldwide.
