M0

Stablecoin Protocol

M0 is money middleware for the digital age. Based on a decentralized architecture and best-in-class collateral design, M0 allows institutions to issue cryptodollars. It also allows for M distributions to earners and governance token (ZERO) holders. There are three main types of actors in the protocol - Minters, Validators, and Earners - all of which are permissioned via governance. Protocol variables are also managed by governance and are stored in a Registrar configuration contract.

What is M0?

M0 is a decentralized protocol that provides infrastructure for building safe, programmable, and interoperable stablecoins. It enables developers to create application-specific digital dollars backed by a secure reserve system, separating reserve management from token programmability.

How Does M0 Work?

M0 operates by allowing regulated entities, known as Minters, to connect to the protocol and manage the supply of $M tokens. Developers can then build on this infrastructure to customize stablecoin functionalities, such as access controls and yield distribution, ensuring interoperability and unified liquidity across the ecosystem.

What Makes M0 Unique?

M0's unique features include its separation of reserve management from programmability, enabling developers to create customized stablecoins without managing reserves. It offers native interoperability among all stablecoins built on its platform, ensuring shared liquidity and seamless integration. Additionally, M0's governance model promotes transparency and credible neutrality.

Who Are the Founders of M0?

M0 was founded in 2023 by Luca Prosperi and Gregory Di Prisco, both veterans of the crypto industry with experience at MakerDAO. Their expertise in decentralized finance has been instrumental in shaping M0's mission and technological framework.
