Percolator: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Percolator?

The primary goal is to provide a high-performance, sharded risk engine that enables permissionless and efficient perpetual futures trading on-chain, rivaling the speed of centralized platforms.

Q: How Can I Participate in Percolator's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by testing the protocol on the Solana devnet, contributing to the open-source code on GitHub, or engaging with the community-led $PERC token ecosystem.

Q: What Sets Percolator Apart from Competitors?

Unlike monolithic DEXs, Percolator's sharded 'Slab' architecture allows for isolated markets and extreme scalability, enabling anyone to launch a leveraged market for any asset in under a minute.

Q: Is Percolator Secure?

The protocol is currently described as experimental and unaudited. While it benefits from the security of the Solana blockchain, users are advised to use devnet or small test amounts until formal audits are completed.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Percolator?

Key risks include smart contract vulnerabilities in the unaudited code, liquidity risks in newly created markets, and the inherent high risk of leveraged perpetual trading.

Q: Is there an official token?

No official protocol token has been launched by Anatoly Yakovenko; existing $PERC tokens are community-driven initiatives intended to support project awareness.

Percolator

Derivatives Perp

Percolator is a permissionless perpetual futures platform based on Solana that allows creators to launch a leveraged market for any SPL token in 60 seconds. Forked from Anatoly Yakovenko's open-source reference program and extended on chain with LP vault, transferable Token-2022 NFT positions, dispute resolution, and audit-crank invariants.

What is Percolator?

Percolator is a high-performance, decentralized perpetual futures exchange (perp DEX) built natively on the Solana blockchain. Designed by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, the project introduces a sharded matching engine architecture to deliver centralized exchange (CEX) level speed and execution quality within a fully on-chain, self-custodial environment.

How Does Percolator Work?

The protocol utilizes a two-program structure consisting of a 'Router' and modular 'Slabs.' The Router manages collateral, portfolio netting, and atomic routing, while Slabs function as independent trading engines operated by liquidity providers. This sharded design allows multiple trading engines to run in parallel, preventing network congestion and ensuring that a bug in one market slab does not impact others.

What Makes Percolator Unique?

Percolator is unique for its 'sharded matching engine' (Slabs), which allows for permissionless market creation for any SPL token in seconds without governance hurdles. It features a coin-margined collateral system that removes dependency on USDC and implements a 'crank' system for efficient liquidations and funding rate updates, pushing the boundaries of Solana's high-throughput capabilities.

Who Are the Founders of Percolator?

The project was initiated by Anatoly Yakovenko, the co-founder and CEO of Solana Labs. Yakovenko, a former software engineer at Qualcomm and Dropbox, is widely recognized for his expertise in distributed systems and for inventing Proof of History (PoH). The protocol is currently an open-source reference implementation being further developed by the Solana community.
