Unit Protocol aimed to provide a decentralized platform where users could mint the stablecoin USDP by using a wide range of crypto assets as collateral, thereby offering liquidity without the need to sell their holdings.

As of 2025, Unit Protocol appears to be inactive, with no updates since 2020 and an inactive website. Participation in the ecosystem is currently not feasible.

Unit Protocol's acceptance of over 160 different tokens as collateral, including less liquid assets and liquidity provider tokens, distinguished it from other stablecoin protocols by offering greater flexibility and inclusivity.

While Unit Protocol implemented mechanisms like over-collateralization and liquidation processes to maintain stability, the project's current inactivity raises concerns about ongoing security and maintenance.

The primary risk associated with Unit Protocol is its apparent inactivity since 2020, leading to concerns about the security of funds, lack of support, and potential loss of value for DUCK token holders.
