What is Velocity?

Velocity is an enterprise-grade fintech infrastructure platform designed to bridge the gap between traditional banking and the multi-asset digital economy. Based in the UK, it provides a unified layer that allows large enterprises to manage both fiat and stablecoin transactions within a single interface, facilitating seamless capital movement across banks, blockchains, and international borders.

How Does Velocity Work?

Velocity operates by providing a 'Stablecoin Payment Account' that integrates into existing corporate treasury and payment systems. It uses programmable stablecoin technology to remove friction from cross-border settlements and liquidity management. The platform leverages blockchain efficiency for instant value transfer while maintaining the regulatory rigor and operational standards required by institutional finance.

What Makes Velocity Unique?

Unlike many crypto projects focused on retail speculation, Velocity is specifically built for the 'velocity of money' in enterprise finance. It offers deep integration with traditional banking infrastructure, allowing companies to adopt digital assets without a total system overhaul. It stands out due to its leadership's extensive background in regulated real-time payments and cross-border FX.

Who Are the Founders of Velocity?

Velocity was founded by payments industry veterans Tom Greenwood and Eric Queathem. Tom Greenwood is the former founder of Volt (a real-time payments firm) and IFX (a cross-border FX treasury business). Eric Queathem previously spent nearly a decade at Worldpay, where he led global strategy and growth across both traditional and cryptocurrency markets.
