While AnySwap was audited by firms like SlowMist, it suffered several high-profile security exploits and internal governance issues that led to the loss of user funds in 2023.

AnySwap: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of AnySwap?

The primary goal of AnySwap was to solve the interoperability problem in DeFi by allowing users to swap any token between any blockchain that uses standard signature algorithms.

Q: How Can I Participate in AnySwap's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by using the bridge to move assets, though it is highly recommended to verify the current status of specific bridge routes due to the project's historical exploits.

Q: What Sets AnySwap Apart from Competitors?

It was a pioneer in using DCRM technology for decentralized custody of cross-chain assets, providing a more robust framework than traditional centralized bridges.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with AnySwap?

Major risks include smart contract vulnerabilities, the potential for central points of failure in node management, and the lack of active development following the project's shutdown in mid-2023.

What is AnySwap?

AnySwap is a fully decentralized cross-chain swap protocol launched in July 2020. It was designed to enable the seamless exchange of tokens across different blockchain platforms, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Fantom. In late 2021, the project rebranded to Multichain to reflect its broader mission as a cross-chain router infrastructure, though the original ANY token remains part of its historical ecosystem.

How Does AnySwap Work?

The protocol utilizes Fusion's Decentralized Control Rights Management (DCRM) and ECDSA/EdDSA signature algorithms to manage cross-chain asset transfers. It functions as a bridge where users can lock assets on one chain to mint wrapped equivalents on another. This process is powered by a network of Secure Multi-Party Computation (SMPC) nodes that sign transactions independently to ensure decentralization.

What Makes AnySwap Unique?

AnySwap stood out as one of the first protocols to offer automated pricing and liquidity systems for cross-chain swaps without a central intermediary. Its 'anyCall' function and decentralized bridge allow for arbitrary cross-chain contract calls, enabling complex DeFi strategies to work across dozens of different blockchains simultaneously.

Who Are the Founders of AnySwap?

AnySwap was founded by Dejun Qian, who is also the CEO of Fusion and a former executive at IBM and BitSE. The project was further developed in collaboration with a team of experts in cryptography and blockchain interoperability, and it received significant support from industry leaders like Andre Cronje and Binance Labs.
