EthStorage

Layer2

EthStorage is a layer 2 solution that provides programmable, dynamic storage based on Ethereum's data availability. It will greatly reduce the storage cost of storing large amounts of data on Ethereum, saving it to 1% to 0.1%. The low cost of large data storage by EthStorage can better enable a fully decentralized network in the future. It is highly integrated with EVM and is compatible with Solidity, Remix, Hardhat, and MetaMask. The team has received a research grant from the Ethereum Foundation for data availability research.

What is EthStorage?

EthStorage is a modular and decentralized Layer 2 storage solution built on Ethereum. It offers programmable key-value storage powered by Data Availability (DA), enabling long-term data availability solutions for rollups and facilitating fully on-chain applications like games, social networks, and AI.

How Does EthStorage Work?

EthStorage operates through a two-component system: a storage contract on Ethereum L1 for on-chain fee distribution and proof verification, and an L2 storage network of nodes responsible for off-chain data storage and continuous DA sampling. Users upload data to an application contract, which interacts with the EthStorage contract to store the data. Storage providers in the L2 network receive notifications, download data from the Ethereum DA network, and submit storage proofs to L1, proving the existence of multiple replicas. Successful submissions are rewarded by the EthStorage contract.

What Makes EthStorage Unique?

EthStorage stands out by providing dynamic, decentralized storage with CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) capabilities, unlike many existing solutions that only support static storage. Its integration with Ethereum allows users to interact seamlessly using existing wallets and development tools. Additionally, EthStorage's modular design enables it to run on any blockchain with an EVM and DA layer, offering flexibility and scalability.

Who Are the Founders of EthStorage?

EthStorage was founded by Qi Zhou, who also founded QuarkChain in 2018. Prior to that, he worked at Google and Meta, bringing extensive experience in blockchain infrastructure and technology development.
