Pledge

Lending

Pledge is designed to allow the creation of innovative, structured, and collateralized lending products, including fixed-interest rate swaps, refinancing, and financial derivatives around credit markets. This enables investors to build diversified portfolios tailored to whatever level of risk exposure they are comfortable with. Pledge leverages ERC-1155 to enable the creation of NFTs to represent each loan, bond, insurance, and other assets.

What is Pledge?

Pledge is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform that offers fixed-rate lending and borrowing services, enabling cryptocurrency holders to diversify their portfolios into non-crypto assets like real estate without liquidating their holdings. It aims to bridge the gap between crypto assets and traditional financial markets by providing stable and predictable financing options.

How Does Pledge Work?

Pledge operates by allowing users to collateralize their cryptocurrency assets to obtain stablecoin loans at fixed interest rates. These stablecoins can then be converted into fiat currency for investments in traditional assets. Lenders provide liquidity by depositing stablecoins into the platform, earning fixed returns upon loan maturity. The platform utilizes smart contracts to automate and secure these transactions.

What Makes Pledge Unique?

Pledge distinguishes itself by focusing on fixed-rate, fixed-term lending, a rarity in the DeFi space. It supports financial NFTs, including tokenized real-world assets, and offers decentralized interest rate swap contracts. This approach caters to long-term investors seeking stability and diversification, setting it apart from other variable-rate DeFi lending protocols.

Who Are the Founders of Pledge?

Pledge was founded by Tony Y. Chan, an original contributor to Windows 95 with extensive experience in real estate, and Michael Ren, former CTO of a major Hong Kong P2P lending platform. The advisory team includes Stanford professor Dr. David Tse and BNP Paribas director Terry Tse, bringing a wealth of expertise in blockchain, finance, and technology.
