9lives Interactive is an independent game studio established in 2021, dedicated to creating high-quality, community-driven gaming experiences. Its flagship project is Nyan Heroes, a AAA Web3 hero shooter built on the Solana blockchain. The project's mission is to revolutionize the gaming industry by combining cutting-edge technology like Unreal Engine 5 with blockchain-enabled asset ownership, while also promoting positive social impact through charitable contributions.
How Does 9lives Work?
The 9lives ecosystem functions through its primary title, Nyan Heroes, where players pilot giant mechs controlled by adorable cats in a competitive 1v1 or team-based environment. Technically, it leverages the Solana blockchain for low-cost, high-speed transactions, allowing players to truly own their in-game assets as NFTs. The platform integrates a 'permadeath' risk-reward system balanced by AI companions known as 'Ooogies' that assist players even when they are offline.
What Makes 9lives Unique?
9lives distinguishes itself by being founded by a team of industry veterans from major franchises like Halo, Destiny, Marvel's Avengers, and Fortnite. Unlike many Web3 projects, it focuses on 'gameplay-first' development using Unreal Engine 5 to compete with traditional AAA shooters. Furthermore, the project has a strong philanthropic angle, having already donated over $350,000 to animal welfare charities, effectively blending competitive gaming with social responsibility.
Who Are the Founders of 9lives?
The project was founded by Max Fu, who serves as the CEO and Creative Director. Max transitioned from a successful career in the creative industry to focus on blockchain gaming and community building. He is supported by a team of veterans from top-tier studios including EA, Bungie, and Ubisoft, alongside senior advisors from industry giants like Riot Games and Twitch, bringing decades of experience in multiplayer live-service titles.
