What is MNX?

MNX refers to MinexCoin, a legacy cryptocurrency designed as a global payments system with low volatility features. Historically, it operated within the Minex ecosystem, utilizing an autonomous algorithm known as MinexBank to maintain price stability and act as a decentralized central bank. In more recent contexts, 'MNX' also appears as the brand for a modern non-custodial futures platform (MNX Markets) focused on AI-related financial instruments, such as derivatives for GPU prices and AI company stocks.

How Does MNX Work?

The original MinexCoin (MNX) functioned on a decentralized blockchain using the 'Mars' algorithm, where the 'MinexBank' algorithm regulated supply and demand by adjusting interest rates for 'parking' coins (staking) and performing market interventions. In the modern MNX Markets platform, the technology operates as a non-custodial exchange on the MegaETH blockchain, allowing users to trade AI-adjacent assets and perpetual contracts without relinquishing control of their funds.

What Makes MNX Unique?

MinexCoin was unique for its 'MinexBank' feature, which attempted to combine the growth potential of a cryptocurrency with the stability of a fiat currency through algorithmic central banking. The contemporary MNX Markets stands out by being one of the first platforms to offer a 'Bloomberg terminal for the AI economy,' featuring unique prediction markets pegged to AI benchmarks and Nvidia GPU price perpetuals.

Who Are the Founders of MNX?

The original MinexCoin project was founded by Boris Shulyaev (CEO) and Ruslan Babych (CTO). The modern MNX Markets platform, which is currently in a testnet phase as of early 2026, was founded by Stephen Grugett, who is also known as the co-founder of the prediction market platform Manifold Markets.
